Mark has extensive practice in the fields of real estate law and private venture finance, including in the areas of development, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, finance, leasing, syndications, and zoning and entitlements. He has handled an estimated $4 billion of real estate and venture capital transactions and financings. Mark also works in the areas of banking, workouts, corporate, business planning and formations, government relations, telecommunications and utility regulation. Mark also has a considerable civil litigation practice and has significant trial and courtroom experience. After obtaining his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, Mark earned his law degree from Arizona State University.

Among the legal projects on which Mark has worked are:

  • Negotiating and drafting a “Development and Disposition Agreement” with the City of Phoenix, and handling the developer zoning and legal work for the condemnation and redevelopment of a block in downtown Phoenix for a new hotel.
  • Handling all the legal work for the acquisitions of several multi-property office, retail and multi-family portfolios with values in excess of $100,000,000 each.
  • Creation and licensing of a national bank and its holding company, including the successful regulatory approvals by the OCC, FDIC and Federal Reserve.
  • Negotiating and documenting a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Phoenix for the lease and development of an industrial complex on City of Phoenix owned land at Sky Harbor Center.
  • Securing $13.5 million in city guaranteed development loans from the City of Scottsdale at a sub-market interest rate for the development of infrastructure and subdivision improvements for the “Legend Trail” master-planned golf course community. Mark also successfully negotiated for the City of Scottsdale to provide a water supply to this site, which the City was not legally obligated to serve. He also obtained access to serve the project over state lands.
  • Formation of the water and sewer companies needed to serve master planned communities outside of any city’s municipal boundaries.
  • The rezoning and development of a mixed-use project of 150,000 square feet of retail and 150,000 square feet of office space in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mark was retained to successfully rezone this property after previous attempts to rezone the property proved unsuccessful. Mark was also successful in negotiating with the U.S. Corps of Engineers to remove this property from a flood plain.

Currently, Mark serves as a member of Gen-Next, a group of successful business leaders dedicated to making the world safe and prosperous for future generations through entrepreneurial philanthropy and political action.  Among his other civic and philanthropic activities, Mark has served as a campaign advisor and finance committee member for a number of city, state, county and federal elected office holders, as well as Chairman of the Republican Party in District 25. He also ran for the United States Congress.

Rick Ma is a born and bred trial attorney. He litigates in both federal and state court as a diligent advocate for his clients. Though modesty would preclude him from bragging about his accomplishments inside and outside the courtroom, it is an undisputed fact that he achieved over several million dollars for clients in judgments and settlements in a single year.

A firm believer in doing the right thing, Rick is passionate about educating his clients on issues relevant to their lives and livelihoods. Too often, clients have come to him after they have been mistreated or conned. For this reason, he is dedicated to ensuring his clients recover what they have lost and prepare them for potential legal entanglements in the future.

He covers the field of civil litigation, business, and real estate issues, advising clients in many different industries and navigating them through and out of their problems. Yet, Rick’s specialty lies in litigation. Beginning with his fellowship in Trial and Appellate Practice, Rick Has always enjoyed being in court. This dual focus has given him the unique skill of being able to fix problems before they arise, but also enforcing solutions when problems do arise.

Rick’s accomplishments include:

  • Established a working partnership relationship with one of the largest law firms in China for mutual co-operation on cross-border cases using his ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese.
  • Obtained dismissal of commercial fraud case filed against a business that had an initial demand of over $500,000.
  • Received a successful verdict at trial in the defense of a negligence case that initially sought over $100,000 in damages.
  • Received a favorable settlement in a wage & hour case for a business client that initially sought over $150,000 in damages.
  • Achieved a dismissal of a contract dispute case filed against a business that had an initial demand of over $250,000.
  • Obtained dismissal of commercial dispute case filed against a business client that had an initial demand of over $1,000,000 in damages.
  • Obtained a $1,000,000 recovery in a real estate agency liability case.
  • Organized and led a team of attorneys throughout the U.S. that recovered over $6,000,000 in connection with the Cincinnati Apartment project fraud case.
  • Obtained a $140,000 recovery in a commercial fraud case.
  • Obtained a $230,000 recovery in a property management company case.
  • Obtained a $140,000 recovery in a product liability case.

Parisa Fishback has been a long-standing member of the California bankruptcy and real estate communities.  She bears over 15 years of experience in the bankruptcy industry, including clerking for the Central District Chief Federal Bankruptcy Judge.  She has represented creditors and the largest financial institutions in the country, as well as individual and corporate debtors.  Ms. Fishback also owns and operates real estate brokerage and escrow companies assisting a multitude of buyers and sellers with their real estate transactions.  She is able to conduct broker and attorney escrow services.  Today, she offers the culmination of her experience in services to commercial, industrial, residential and bulk asset owners and buyers to help enhance or mitigate their financial affairs. She offers legal, bankruptcy, real estate brokerage and escrow services – a genuine one stop shop for buyers and sellers.
